Years ago, when our family lived in the St. Louis area, I once checked a book out from the local library that I just loved. But by the time I thought about it again, about seven years later, I had forgotten the title, author, and all the other vital information it takes to be able to find a book.
I could remember the story; something about a girl with wings who finds a griffin that helps her build a harp...but that wasn't enough to find it with - despite various librarians who tried to help, and innumerable searches online using keywords like "winged girl, owl, harp, griffin".
But today, I did it. I finally found my book, after months of feeling stupid while asking librarians "Uh, look, I read this book once and I was wondering if you might remember ever reading it..."
I did a search on our Library's website, which sent me to Amazon. It seems ridiculous that I'd never found it on there until now, but I suppose stranger things have happened. I still didn't outright recognize the book (for one thing, it was red, instead of the green I thought I remembered) but the title seemed familiar, and after reading the story description, I knew I had it.
"Gwinna", by Barbara Helen Berger is the book I've been looking for for so long, and now the library system is going to send it to me, and I can read it again!
Yeah, I know, totally random and pointless, but my last post was starting to get on my nerves, and my story still hasn't been posted on MindFlights.
Anywho, I'm gone,
"Gwinna", here I come!
